You know what’s trending? The 66th National Awards! As the postponed ceremony has finally been executed with the most exuberant results. Traditionally the National Awards take place in the first half of the year, but it was postponed due to the election polls this year, and the announcement was made on August 9, 2019. Further, the awards were presented by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu on Monday, December 23, 2019.
The awards highlighted the efforts put in the new concepts of the movies. The winners that left us in awe were- Hellaro for best feature film, Son Rise, The Secret Life Of Frogs for best non-feature-film, Mouna Prarthana Pole for best book, Blais Johnny and Anant Vijay for the best film critic. But the spotlight of the award function was the actors Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Akshay Kumar, and Keerthy Suresh.
The legendary star Amitabh Bachchan was supposed to be presented with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, but due to the ill health of the superstar, the award will be presented later by President Ram Nath Kovind on December 29 during a high-tea, which will take place in Rashtrapati Bhavan dedicated to all the winners.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Akshay Kumar and Vicky Kaushal Steal The Show!
But if you ask us who stole the show, then we would definitely tilt our heads towards the actors who got the Best Actors Award, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vicky Kaushal. Ayushmann Khurrana won the award for his hit movie ‘Andhadhunn.’ He wore a very smart military suit paired with a white kurta for the special day.
Then there was Vicky Kaushal, who came in a very sleek black Achkan and won yet another National Award after his debut award for ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike.” And then came our nation’s favorite hero, Akshay Kumar, who bagged an award for his very brilliant movie Padman for the category of Best Film On Social Issues.
Surekha Sikri And Keerthy Suresh Win The Best Actress Awards!
Then came the dazzling actress Keerthy Suresh who won the best actress award for her movie Mahanati. She wore a very beautiful beige saree with a gold boat neck blouse embellished with floral imprints, paired with elegant gold jhumkas. Another star that won our heart was non-other than Surekha Sikri, who got the award of the best supporting role for Badhaai Ho.
